RiskGate Cybersecurity Assessment Platform

Role: Product Manager

Project Overview

RiskGate is a cybersecurity assessment platform designed to help organisations evaluate and manage human-layer security risks. While many security tools focus on network vulnerabilities or system-level threats, RiskGate addresses risks associated with people, including employees, contractors, and external partners.

The platform provides organisations with a structured way to assess security awareness, analyse behavioural risks, and identify areas where targeted cybersecurity training may be required.

The goal of the product is to improve organisational security posture by transforming human cybersecurity risk into measurable, actionable insights.

Problem

Cybersecurity threats increasingly exploit human behaviour rather than technical vulnerabilities. Employees frequently become entry points for security breaches through phishing attacks, weak password practices, or unsafe digital behaviour.

Despite this risk, many organisations lack effective tools to evaluate and monitor human-layer security risks across their workforce.

Common challenges faced by organisations include:

  • Limited visibility into employee cybersecurity awareness
  • Difficulty identifying high-risk behaviours
  • Lack of structured methods for assessing vendor and contractor security risks
  • Inconsistent cybersecurity training across teams

Without reliable assessment tools, organisations struggle to prioritise security training and risk mitigation efforts.

Product Vision

The vision for RiskGate was to create a platform that allows organisations to measure and monitor cybersecurity risk across their workforce.

The platform was designed to provide security teams with actionable insights by combining assessment frameworks, behavioural analysis, and data-driven reporting.
Rather than relying solely on technical vulnerability scans, RiskGate enables organisations to assess the human side of cybersecurity risk.

My Role

I collaborated with security experts, engineers, and product stakeholders to support the design and development of the RiskGate platform.

My responsibilities included:
• Supporting product discovery and requirement definition
• Contributing to the design of the cybersecurity risk assessment framework
• Collaborating with engineers on feature development
• Analysing behavioural insights from phishing simulations
• Identifying opportunities to improve the platform’s reporting and analytics capabilities

Product Strategy

The strategy focused on creating a system that transforms employee cybersecurity behaviour into measurable risk indicators.

Key elements of the strategy included:

• Developing structured risk assessment frameworks for employees and vendors
• Integrating behavioural insights from phishing simulations
• Creating dashboards that provide clear risk insights for security teams
• Enabling organisations to identify and prioritise high-risk areas

Key Product Decisions

One of the most important decisions during product development was to focus on behavioural data rather than static assessment results.

Traditional security awareness tests provide limited insight into real-world behaviour. By integrating phishing simulation results, the platform was able to provide more accurate risk assessments based on actual user responses.

Another important decision involved designing dashboards that simplify complex security data. Security teams needed clear visual insights rather than large volumes of raw data.

Results and Impact

The development of RiskGate contributed to the creation of a platform capable of helping organisations better understand and manage human cybersecurity risks.

Key Outcomes Included:

  • Improved visibility into employee cybersecurity behaviour
  • Structured frameworks for assessing organisational security awareness
  • Data-driven insights to guide targeted security training initiatives
